P B and P

Well, I had the evening to myself tonight.  First in a long, long, long time.  Well, maybe ever least since I've been married.  If my hubs was ever going to be out-of-town, I just would go over to my parents for the night.  Anyway, my hubs did come home for dinner at the normal time.  But then after we ate and chatted a bit, he went back to the lab to get more work done.  I was fine with that, except the silly spring weather in Colorado had me on edge the whole time he was fact he's not quite back yet...but will be any minute! :)

Anyway, I made my "Brick oven style pizzas" for dinner tonight.  And they turned out really well.  (Which is always nice right?!?)  Then I decided to make some bread for the weekend tonight.  So I used my Honey Wheat Oat Bread recipe and it also turned out well.  (Again, love it when things go well in the kitchen!)  So, it was about 8 o'clock at this point and that's about the time that my hubby and I would normally sit down on a Friday night and watch a movie.  Well, since he wasn't here, I wasn't going to watch one by myself...although maybe I should have.  :)

I did go ahead and make the popcorn though.  I have one of those Stir-Crazy popcorn poppers.  I love it.  The popcorn always turns out perfectly and it doesn't require much oil at all. my family has always loved popcorn.  And my hubby and I definitely keep up the tradition.  Which I'm sure we'll pass down the generations too...hehe  I do love popcorn.  Although, I realized it's not the best thing to eat while home alone.  It's very choke-able.  Luckily I only had one big choke and it didn't require any dialing of any three numbers.  So, note to self--next time hubby is gone for the evening...don't make popcorn! :)

Oh, and if you are wondering.  I am self sufficient.  I can do things alone.  I can do things without my husband.  But, I like to spend time with him.  You know, God put us together for a reason.  So, I'm going to go with God's idea and spend time with my hubby.  Plus, we are not two, but one.  So, really it's just like spending time with the rest of myself. :)  That said...I was actually lonely tonight.  Mostly because...I don't think I have spent an evening at home without him since we got married.  Anyway...I am ranting....  It's just interesting.

PS I am pretty much terrified of tornadoes....and the that's pretty bad combo on a night like tonight.  :(  Good thing my husband will be home very soon. :)

  1. You are hilarious! Last night we ordered pizza from Domino's (because I didn't think I could stomach another one from Little Ceasar's - even if they are only $5) and I felt a little guilty for having it delivered during a tornado warning...then I thought of are the only person I know who takes tornado warnings seriously. I was sitting in my upstairs hobby room talking to my Mom on the phone & she asked me if I go to the basement when there is a tornado warning...then she said maybe she'd be seeing me in a while (as I going flying past her)...anyway, like I said before, I love your blog and look forward to many more posts about love, life and of course, food...

  2. Well thanks. I think you are hilarious. I know I am silly that I take those things seriously....but well...I especially do after that tornado that ripped through Windsor (and countless other places) two years ago. So...yeah. :) Too funny about your conversation with your mom though. You're sweet. I do plan on writing many, many more posts about those three things...and maybe more. ;) It's a great distraction, or escape....
