Sansho Stirfry

You may (or may not) have noticed that I am a little obsessed with World Market.  Have you ever been there?  It's amazing.  They really have a little of everything for everyone.  My Mom likes it, my hubby likes it, and my sisters like it.  I mean, I think everyone probably does. :)

Anyway, one of the reasons I enjoy it so much is because they have lots of cool spices and things from around the world.  Oh, and the fact that it's affordable.  You can buy whole nutmeg, different types of cinnamon, mixes of spices, etc...all for around $1-$2 in a bag or a little more if they are in jars.  Sweet huh?  My hubby found this stuff on one of our last trips to World Market...so I made stirfry with it tonight.  Check it out below...

I started with some hot oil, chicken and 1 t. of this Sansho spice blend.
Once the chicken turned white I added onions and garlic.
Then when the onions were transparent I added in lots of veggies, and a little more spice.
Meanwhile, I was cooking my brown rice to perfection.  :)
Then I topped some brown rice with the sansho stirfry.
We ate it right up too.  To my surprise it wasn't spicy...really at all.  I suppose you may have to use more than about 2 t. in order to feel the heat.  Either way, we both enjoyed it and it made quick work of adding flavor to my stirfry!  :)
